Farm Consulting

The firm’s agribusiness consulting services will be principally provided by its founder Dave Burkholder.  Mr. Burkholder’s 40+ years of working with farmers and agribusiness clients enable him to offer a variety of services that fit the changed needs of our clients in the current farm economy and lending environment.  Besides the traditional services offered by accounting firms that include preparation of individual, partnership, corporation, limited liability company and trust income tax returns and gift tax returns,  we are happy to offer the following services, among others:

• Preparation of financial statements, both for management use only and for use by third parties such as lenders.
• Assistance with the preparation and assembly of financial information and documentation required to support loan applications, including information required by lenders for troubled loan workouts.
• Family business and personal financial planning services.  We recognize the fact that such services have traditionally focused on estate planning and succession.  While these are important concerns to our clients and need to be addressed, we believe that our clientele today have interests that go far beyond those traditional areas.  Such interests might include concerns about legacy on the part of senior members of family businesses (particularly with regard to their family members not involved in the family business).  A business structure that provides adequate opportunity for self-expression and innovation might be important to the more junior members of the family businesses.  Whatever the goals and requirements of our clients might be, we believe we can work to help create synergy between “family strategies” and “business strategies”.
